Certified Toad — noun
A very large largemouth bass. Smallmouths may also qualify, provided they are sufficiently disrespectful.

Found in lakes, rivers, reservoirs, ponds, and anywhere else fishermen are likely to say, “I swear it was bigger when I hooked it.”

The largemouth bass is one of North America’s favorite freshwater game fish — aggressive, predatory, and basically willing to eat anything that swims, dives, wiggles, or makes one questionable life decision near its mouth. Frogs, baitfish, bugs, crawdads, smaller bass... dignity is not part of the diet.

Most bass are caught somewhere around 12–18 inches and 1–3 pounds.

But a Certified Toad?
